Position Duties: Direct Care staff is responsible for providing therapeutic interactions and supervision to youth
who are placed in residential setting due to emotional and behavioral problems. Under the
supervision of the Cottage Manager, Treatment Counselors are responsible for implementing
appropriate treatment strategies with the students, timely documentation, cleaning duties,
cooking duties, psycho-educational groups, and physical activities.

Minimum Qualifications: Treatment Counselors must be at least twenty-one years of age.
Bachelor’s degree preferred with a major study in psychology, sociology, social work, social
sciences or a closely related filed and two years experience in the supervision and management
of a residential facility for care and treatment of children. Entry level staff who does not meet the
minimum childcare qualifications may be hired with the requirement that these staff will, within
six months of hire, obtain certification in residential childcare.
